Conservation

The Conservation / Pond Section has a very picturesque area for picnics, barbeques, walks to the white pine bush, fishing, dog training or a game of horseshoes. Wood duck boxes are home to our yearly visitors and turtles sunbath on log. Migrating Canada geese and various ducks use the pond as well. This section hosts four retriever trials each year organized by the Mountain Valley Retriever Training Club. H.A.H.A. also provides its facilities for activities of the Dundas Valley Longbeards chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Canadian Poodle Club. The Dundas Valley Longbeards have been active in projects to re-establish wild turkeys in the area and planting in conjunction with the Hamilton Region Conservation Authority.
